PLAGIARISM AND IMAGES
Pictures/Images have copyright protection just like books do. Copying an image without proper rights is plagiarism. You wouldn't copy a WHOLE BOOK; you might quotes a sentence or paragraph. On the other hand, you wouldn't likely use just a small corner of an image, but when you use the whole picture (or most of it) it's like copying the whole book.
Just as you want to respect and protect the rights of authors and their works, we must protect and respect the rights of photographers, graphic designers, and artists. The sites and tips below will give you sources from which you may freely find images.
BONUS! Some of these resources include sound effects and songs for download into your power point or video projects.
WIKIMEDIA COMMONS
- Copyright free images, sounds, videos
CVL MULTIMEDIA - For image and sound searches, use the Cobb County user name and password to login to CVL
Like other CVL resources, Cobb County Schools pay for student access to these resources. To search images or sounds, scroll down to the Multimedia section. Here you may search resources such as Britannica Images, Ebsco Images (with Galileo password), Microsoft Office ClipArt, and Soundzabound.
Creative Commons is based in the philosophy that we are all more creative together and links photographers/graphic designers/artists who are willing to share their work with others.
